Yes, most loyal JWs are hostile. Not all though. Friend is usually pretty nice.

I found this true as well and it still amazes me. The Society has lied to the rank and file about ex-JWs.

Religion is often a source of bigotry rather than love. If you think about it, this makes sense. If a religious group - such as JWs or born-agains - are the only ones that are going to be saved, then they think they are somehow better than the rest of us. After all, God is going to kill everyone except them, so they must be better somehow, right? That is a small step from viewing others as lesser persons.
