I've refrained from commenting either one way or the other regarding this fellows claims of being a governing body member because I am so totally convinced by the assurance of the Holy Spirit that the WT organization doesn't now, didn't ever, and is never going to speak for God or represent Christ to this dark world. But I thought I would comment on this one issue.
I am of the opinion that GB could be authentic for the simple reason that his grandiose claims but impotent reality is a signature of the leadership of the WT. He alledgedly comes on this forum offering understanding and hope to so many doubting JW's, giving them something to look forward to, so reminiscent of WT play tactics. But in true colors can offer no real hope, only hype. I would say to this person, if he is for real, that to be blood-guilt free and blameless before the God of the universe, he has to take a stand for what he believes in. I, for one, don't feel sympathy for his predicament. There are thousands upon thousands whose situations are of equal seriousness, some even worse (some even dead!). This pissin', moanin' and groanin' is for those that have the time to stroke his ego. I don't and won't. If he's in a position that could make a difference, THEN JUST DO IT. Has his WT association stripped him of his manhood?
We each will ultimately answer to God for what we do here. Is this a flim-flam man or a servant of the Most High? If his master is the all powerful governing body, then he does indeed need to crawl back under his rock. If his master is the Lord Jesus Christ, then it will be Christ himself who will strengthen him to do what he must. One thing for sure, complacency isn't an option.
One other thing. If his resolve is to make the organization a better religion, then his efforts are only humanitarian. If his resolve is to worship God in spirit and truth, and his love and dedication is directed where it's suppose to be, then his resolve would be to do whatever needs be done to expose the darkness for what it is.
