I would imagine many health care workers would have to make similar decisions. Not as clear-cut as abortion.
But now that it looks like the blood issue is not so specific, it must be a little more comforting that those who accept blood are not breaking God's laws since the "ritual" is set aside when it comes to the life of a person, as the sabbath was set aside in case an animal fell into a ditch and Jesus healed on the Sabbath and when needed, he offered his own blood to his disciples to "drink" in order to save their lives.
If it's okay for us to drink Jesus' blood if it will save our lives, why is it such a sin to offer our blood to save that of our neighbor?
