As I feared this discussion with you has been a complete waste of my time, something that really disappoints me.
…Jesus was just mistaken when he said only one tribulation.
Please show us all where Jesus said there would be only one tribulation.
Two out of three never said diddley about the end of anything or any coming, yet the answer Jesus gave was recorded the same.
I asked before if you accepted Matthew’s account as faithful. Do you? Your expression above appears to me as quite sarcastic. If that is the tone you wish to continue then you must find another partner. My participation on the subject of Jesus’ answer for a sign is thought out and genuine. I will not waste time with sarcasm.
Throughout your posts to me you insisted WE had to know the motivation of the person asking the question. Not true. YOU might, but I don’t.
Earlier you indicated that you knew what motivated the question from Jesus’ followers, but you never clarified that position in the face of questioning. Why? Might it be that you could not answer my question of "What does the destruction of the temple have to do with Jesus’ coming?" You claim those two events are relevant toward one another but you never said what that relevance is. Well, do you know or don’t you know, which is it? If you are so sure they are relevant to one another then please answer the question above.
If you consider that asked important then you should want to understand what was asked. Unless you consider that that asked came from thin air then motivation of that asked is important to understanding what was asked.
I know you would like to get some connection going between the 'coming' of Jesus and the wishes of his followers to know about some "earthly kingdom.' That way you can adjust the meaning of the question asked. Sorry , it ain't there as I see it.
What I would like to get is some meaningful dialogue on an issue that you invited my participation in. At this point I am not sure you were sincere in that request. I see also that you do not understand my views on Jesus’ answer for a sign. If you feel my views are wrong then by all means debate them. All you have done so far is hurl rocks from the bleachers. You have contributed exactly zilch to our discussion and you have supported your views on the subject also with zilch. Saying something just "ain’t there" is easy. Now evidence your claim. Show me where I am wrong.
Please show us where I have indicated Jesus’ kingdom is anywhere but in heaven. Please, show us all. I cannot wait to see your evidence of that wild claim.
So in answer to your question " what does the destruction have to do with Christ's coming?" According to what Jesus himself said it's part of the same event.
That cannot explain what Jesus’ followers were asking because it came after the fact. Understanding an answer is dependent on understanding what was asked.
Again I will ask, are you serious about this discussion or not. I do not have time to waste on this or any other issue with you unless it is important to you. Please do not waste my time by inviting my answers unless you are willing to discuss issues.
