I wonder if the Society is still maintaining that there will be a substantial increase in 98 as they were claiming at the District Assemblies? Im thinking that in order to make the numbers look better, they will be doing things like counting publishers and unbaptised publishers together (if they were active and publishing as of the end of the service year) or....they will count all JWs and children of active JWs together, baptized or not...or they will start counting the pets of JWs in those numbers or... :)

Does anyone know if a person is inactive, or MIA, how long the Society keeps them in the numbers? Many folks I know today are just leaving...not DAing, just leaving. Will they be counted indefinitely in JW rolls? We must be close to the receipt of the Jan WT...anyone have the stats yet? I would love to see, particularly in this country, where the numbers are going. Im sure the rest of the world looks to see what is happening at Ground Zero...the US as a barometer. If there is a decrease, there will probably be a huge article about how the Love of the Greater Number are Cooling OFF, or the Great Apostacy, or "they werent of our kind if they left" type mentality. You know...a good EXCUSE article or three.
