The problem with your analogy is that your grandfather's loss of money did not make it impossible for your father ever to be rich. Money is a possession that can come or go. The inability to perfectly obey God -- which is what "inherited sin" amounts to -- is something built into our genetic makeup, if you believe the whole scenario -- which I don't.

Adam and Eve sinned; therefore God changed them genetically, thereby rendering them and their children incapable of obeying him perfectly even if they wanted to? No. This is nonsensical.
