Hi kc,
I found this post in the archives, I thought it was rather thought provoking, Jan wrote it this past summer.
------------------
Judge: You are guilty to death for this sin. And I will kill your children as well, but not until they have all had children of their own, so the killing can go on for eternity.
Man: But aren't you loving and merciful? Can't you forgive me, or at least forgive my children?
Judge: Nope. The Law says I can't.
Man: The law?
Judge: Yes, the Law I wrote.
Man: But you can't refer to your own law as if you're not directly responsible for its actions. You wrote the law, and can rewrite it and do whatever you want.
Judge: I am the Judge here. Do you want to fight with me over it? I'm the strongest man in this courtroom!
Man: No, no, no. Ok. But can't you find a way out?
Judge: Hmm. Ok, I have a son.
Man: So?
Judge: I can kill him.
Man: ???
Judge: You see, after my own perfect Law, if I kill him and then resurrect him, and make him king, I can forgive your children and stop killing them anymore. I will do that around 2000 years after I kill him, which I will do in around 4000 years. I can then resurrect all of those who've died over the 6000 years that passed.
Man: Whatever you say.
