I'm not saying that specifically Job knew all the details, but the PROMISED SEED was something they knew of. And Joseph and Job knew about the "better resurrection." This was part of their hope.

"By faith Moses, when grown up, refused to be called the son of the daughter of Pharoah, choosing to be ill-treated with the people of God rather than to have the temporary enjoyment of sin, because he esteemed the reproach of the Christ as riches great than the treasures of Eypt, for he looked intently toward the payment of the reward.... in order that they might attain a BETTER RESURRECTION."

So the resurrection was something they knew about and looked forward to and Job was one of them.

But as far as angels being considered as "gods" Ps 82:1-8 makes that clear. So they understood quite clearly that angels were also "gods". And of course it is clear that both John and Thomas considered Jesus a god and their god. So there is no problem with Jesus or any other angel being considered a god. I think you tend to want to make "god" a title when you should consider it as a noun.

Even more direct is Psalms which prophesies that (45:16) "In place of your forefathers there will come to be your sons, Whom you will appoint as princes in all the earth."

And don't forget the Sadducees who were a sect of Jews who did not in the resurrection, and how many talks Jesus had explaining about the resurrection and people coming back to life. Talking about what happens if a woman was married to seven men, who would have her as wife in the resurrection?

So the resurrection was a foundation of Jewish understanding and that resurrection was not one in the heavens but on the earth! So Job knew he would return after his death for eternal life on the earth as part of the resurrection hope.

I'll have fun looking for more "god" references for you. If I find any I'll post them.

The Israelites knew of the resurrection back to earth. That was part of the foundation of their hope and understanding.

Cheers,
Bibleman
