Thanks for your interesting post. The Society applies to themselves OVER and OVER again the words in Luke 12:32 regarding the "little flock." What a HUGE claim! But the very next verse (verse 33) says what the "little flock" is to "fear not," namely, "Sell the things belonging to YOU and give gifts of mercy." These instructions to the "little flock" were directed to Jesus' disciples which at that time were a "little flock" as verse 22 states: "Then he said to his disciples...." It is sad that while the Society with their corporate image keeps accumulating land and wealth they don't really take to heart what James 1:27 says, that "the form of worship that is clean and undefiled" is "to look after orphans and widows in their tribulation." Your post bears this out as far as the "local brothers" are concerned. Charity is not one of their strong points because the Society doesn't have any REAL arrangements to help the poor, even those among the rank and file. The apostle Paul says: "Only we should keep the poor in mind. This very thing I have also earnestly endeavored to do." (Gal 2:10)
