Well, the Bible is more than a book of prophecy. The Bible benefited the world for those who adopted it's moral values and encouragement of love of fellow man. And those from 33CE to early 1800s benefited from knowing about the Messiah and the hope of everlasting life. And of course, the Bible gave manking a history and perspective about where he came from and what was going on with him and God.
But a certain select group ALWAYS knew that a lot of scripture wouldn't be fulfilled until the "end times" when the Messiah would arrive.
Of note, though, as Jesus said, "some standing here today would not taste death until they see the kingdom." That meant that some select followers would be chosen to actually survive from the time of the 1st Century down to our day. The Apostle John and Paul were two of those men.
So whatever purpose was sought for them to serve down through the ages they did indeed serve that purpose, as you could imagine. And there are lots of behind scenes things going on.
May I hasten to remind you to please read again about how the kingdom is born and how the woman who gives birth to the kingdom is not a public entity. But she flies into the wilderness "out of the sight of the dragon." Thus the key elect who are waiting for the Messiah are all in a private setting, not public.
I know some of this is hard to understand, but applying inaacurate scenarios and then finding fault with them is not going to help you realize the truth and understand what precisely is going on.
Even so, things must happen on a small scale first before it affects the greater world. Things will start with "God's house" which means the witness organization. If you can't recognize first and foremost the role of witnesses in scripture as the "temple organization" then many things in scripture will have little critical prophetic meaning. Thus the full light and the full truth and the full revelation of the Messiah will come to those who are searching the scriptures, and not those who feel like their job is to "wait and see, first, then..."
We are living in a very special time. But it is a time to be awake spiritually, not sleep.
Cheers,
