I wish that the Society would have been guided by the principles you described all along. It's evident that some men on the writing staff are real Christians motivated by love.
Unfortunately, the death of Lloyd Barry left super-hardliner GB member Ted Jaracz for all practical purposes in charge. Jaracz has now put in place 4 new GB members much to his liking.
I do not believe, therefore, that the Society is going to go in the direction you'd like to see for some time. If anything, I believe that there is going to be a good bit of tightening up, which along with other pressures will lead to a crisis, and only then will a "nicer" organization become a possibility.
