Are you really interested in this issue of Jesus answer for a sign? If not that is fine, I just do not want to spend a lot of time on an issue of little importance to you, if that is the case. If you want to seriously discuss this issue that is fine also, in that case just read on and answer if you so desire.
I guess there is no doubt the questions are the result of curiosity, but I don't read anything deeper into it than the fact Jesus had just told them this great temple they have just walked out of, was going to be totally destroyed.
So what does Jesus’ coming have to do with the temple in Jerusalem being totally destroyed? Keep in mind that that question requires a previous connection apart from Jesus answer.
The inquiry about Jesus’ coming is one of three things asked about in their question to Jesus. Likewise the inquiry about the temple’s destruction was one of three things asked about in their question to Jesus. Jesus’ response answered all three.
