But in my defense, the unwritten "rule" is that if you don't have the creditials to recommend a certain idea, you can do two things:
1) Quote from an expert; or
2) Provide the raw "evidence" for an independent examination.
So that's easily done and I do precisely that.
Case in point. I'm claiming there is evidence in two astronomical texts which date the fall of Jerusalem in 529BCE?
Do you believe me?
Why should you?
But I don't just make that claim, I actually provide you with the REFERENCES to the evidence. I provide you with the two texts: VAT4956, and SK400. And the specific references: Line 3 and 14 of VAT4956, and the two eclipses in the SK400. And then you can check it out yourself or get an expert to do it.
So I'm not asking anyone to believe me. I'm just reporting on what my research turned up. As far as I'm concerned, anybody can come up with their own theory as to why there are two different dates for Year 37 of Nebuchadnezzar in the VAT4956. But he dating is there.
And in addition to that, if one thing my research has proven is that even the "experts" have varying views on things. So just having a different view of dating means nothing since you can get some Ph.D. to support your view. The WTS does it all the time including with 607BCE.
So it will all boil down to who has the most credible and critical evidence on final examination. Then anybody after that can make up their own minds.
But some people, not used to thinking for themselves, don't think anything is a "fact" until somebody else tells them. Some people don't know what THEY believe until somebody takes a poll.
