All I can say is that little bird from the legal department told another little bird, that flew to my window. But as most things on the Internet, take this with some due skeptism. And the Watchtower could change thier mind on this... but I don't think they will. They have to change the issue on blood for many reasons.
To give a bit more info, what I've heard is that the legal department would have made this change years ago if they could have pulled it off. It's all part of preventing a potential major lawsuit issue and making the JW's more of a main stream religion.
In fact their are some folks that will be able to bring some very large lawsuits against the Watchtower Org. and this has the legal department very concerned. Especially if precident is set. It could open the floodgates to libel and the boys in Brooklyn paying out huge sums. I even have a family member that died because she refused to take blood. (I have letter from two independant surgeons that reviewed the case and said that if she took blood she most likely would have lived.)
And they're going to make it like the voting issue. The spin doctors at the Watchtower will say something like.... JW's have always been able to take blood... it was always a matter of personal conscience. Duh.
And the rank & file JW will swallow this, hook, line and sinker. Yeah... new light!!! Kinda like the teaching on the "generation". Most JW's accepted it without a peep.
