Yes, you can argue the semantics. You do have a point. The problem is, from a P.R. perspective, the WTS has a point too. It's not so much a lie as a difference of perspective, IMO. Legal nit-picking.
It's fine to point out the facts for the ignorant. But I think almost all JWs are aware that Bethelites get an allowance. I doubt they would be shocked to hear this. They certainly won't consider it a lie. Why not focus on areas that are unarguably lies?
