Hi Friend;

I am not really up on all the loans and such, but about 10 years ago the hall I used to go to decided to remodel. They went through the channels with the society, we had a meeting and they talked about the obligation to pay the society back. They asked if each publisher could donate so much per month, I don't remember how much we were asked to donate it was to long ago, any way some of the congregation were having problems and said they really didn't think they could meet that much per month.

To make the story short, the society said NO to the loan. One of the sisters, an elderly lady in her late 80's loaned the congregation the money to remodel. The payments were really small, and the lady died before they paid the loan off. I am not sure what happened when she died. She still had a daughter and a grandaughter in the hall. I am not sure if she cancelled the debt, or if her relatives continued to receive the money on the loan.

This was 10 years ago, but I remember at the time, I was pretty new to the organization back then, I wondered how the money donatated to the world wide fund was being used. I always thought that it was for building and remodeling halls that couldn't afford to do it on their own.

Any way that was the only expericence I had with such things.
