P.S. Just for the record, in case 5GJW misunderstood. When I said reading your "thoughts" I meant via your preferences. If you're surfing archaeology sites people know what you're thinking that day. If you search astrology sites, they know what you're "thinking". If you're at H20 all day...they get stumped, but...naah.
Let me give you an example. If you search by author at USENET, say, who is talking about antiques, then you can find out all about him.
Let's say you're interested in antiques and they participate in that usergroup. So out of curiosity, you want to see what else he participates in and the number of articles he posts. Here is something you could suddenly know about a person just by what he posts:
alt.antiques.amerian 15
alt.religion.christian 30
alt.religion.reform-JW 225
alt.recovery.alcohol 98
alt.politics.gay-lesbian 1260
alt.fans.music.Sting 1350
alt.fans.music.Prince 12
alt.sports.auto-racing 500
alt.astrology 85
alt.archaeology 22
alt.history.ancient 212
alt.reform.Jehovah-wit. 2220
alt.smoking.choke 18
See what I mean? You know a lot more about that
person. It's their profile PLUS their activity.
All instant just by their "choices" on the net.
That's what I meant by "reading your mind".
And...now I'm embarrassed because I think you
probably figured that out and was just putting
me on......hmmmmmm.
Then again....just in case. I didn't literally
mean "mind reading" for any who thought that is
what I actually meant...
Cheers,
