Thank you for your answer. If I understand you correctly, the FPP prohibits participants from posting links to websites that display copyright material without authorization from the copyright owners. I’m glad you clarified this linking issue, because I have posted links without checking with the website owner to see if the information displayed had been duly authorized by the copyright owner.
Nevertheless, I’m interested to know what is your take on my question about whether linking to an outside website can be construed as violation of copyright law in the US. Do you know of any case law where the owner of a website was held liable for copyright violation when a guest posted a link to an outside website?
