I am so sorry to hear of your wife's experiences in the WT org. This is not the first time I have heard of someone being sick and the elders not believing it to be real. I experienced this back in 1962 when I was pregnant, with asthma. I was so sick that I miscarried. The Presiding Overseer visited me (when my husband was at work) and read scriptures condemning me because I was not attending meetings. He also warned our friends that I was bad association. I know that all elders do not have this mentality. My husband was a kind and compassionate elder for 40 years, but all to often it happens that illnesses are looked upon as "only in your head" and not taken seriously. We left the WT org. over 16 years ago and now I feel total and complete freedom in Jesus who was compassionate and understood that people, esp. women cannot handle the pressures put upon them by man-made rules. I pray that those in authority in all organizations and churches will display this same care. With Christian love,
