It's pretty obvious that this site is to try and make the public think that things are different than what they really are.
My wife and I have "ceased to be involved", not DA'd, just left. For 4 years now I get calls asking me questions about the society, and do I still believe the GB is the FDS. Nothing about my realationship with God, nothing about Jesus, only about the society. I have also been told this is being done so if I give the wrong answers, I will get DF'd for apostasy.
Now I will admit that not everybody in the congregation we used to go to shuns us, but the majority do. When people see you in the store, and turn around and head the other way, I call that shunning. When you drive by them on the road, and they give you a dirty look, refuse to wave, if you wave at them, I call that shunning. When you don't get invited to your own family gatherings, I call that shunning. When you live not more than 500 yards from your wife's brother, and you never see them, I call that shunning. When a elder from another congregation tells you that the elders in your old congregation are trying to find something they can DF you with, well I call that pretty SICK, and not very Christian.
I know that as far as families go when it comes to a DF'd one, you are only supposed to make contact when absoultly neccesary. However I have seen some who still communicate, and I admire them for that. On the other hand most of the ones I know who have left because of being DF'd, were cut off from their families.
Once again I have to say that his whole site is to make them look better than they really are. To much bad publicity on the internet has caused them to put this site up. At least that is my opinion.
