The downright lie, in the quote you are inquiring about, is from a 6-page tract issued by WTS in 1955. The tract is titled "The Sign of Christ's Presence - Is that sign now seen?"
45 years back when the WTS published this tract they never thought that people like AF and others would analyze and scrutinize every word they ever printed! Such tracts were trasitory and were put out to impress and gain converts.They soon went out of print and most were thrown away by persons after reading them. My copy of the tract indicates that it was "Printed in U.S.A."
The tract also adds that "For more than seventy years it (WT) has called attention to the Bible prophecies dealing with the second presence of Christ..." (p.6)
Seventy years back from the publication of the tract (1955) would be 1885 at which time WTS was of course teaching that Christ presence dated from 1874, as you have shown in your post.
Once I showed this tract to an elder and queried the point you are making. He promptly told me that it was a forgery and was printed by opposers of WTS!
