You simply can NOT trust the quotes the Watchtower pretend to do. We have seen evidence to altering the texts in "new editions" without telling anybody the text was altered. Time after time, and even the 97 CD ROM is changed compared to the 95 edition.
It's like the number of JWs that died in Nazi Germany, and the numbers of people dying in earth quakes before 1914. With the speed of decrease in the figures from the Watchtower, there will be absolutely noone that died in earth quakes BEFORE 1914 by 2002/2003. And in the same year about 20.000 JWs will have been arrested and sendt to concentration camps, whereof 15.000 actually died :))

PS. In Norway the Official JW records show a small increase the last 4 years as a total. The official records from the authorities, that support the Watchtower with money for each member, tells us the decrease is more than 300 members!
