LA: I agree with your comments. The lie I spoke of is not anything that Jehovah is responsible for. Under no circumstances would I blame God for what men do. And to the extent that men who are responsible for the Society's official teachings are sincere, then I do not believe that they are guilty of 'liking and carrying on a lie' in the strict sense of lying. I do believe I should have better phrased this by saying that the prophetic speculation regarding 1914 is seriously mistaken, and that I could no longer support it or other seriously mistaken doctrines. I continue to agree with and many of the organization's teachings. For example, I believe thier understanding of Hades being in the condition of death rather than Hell Fire is correct. There can still be debate, but I side with the Society on that issue.
I would love to see the Society make fundamental changes in its doctrine, policies, and organizational structure. If they made significant changes, I could see myself returning. Time will tell. However, I am not necessarily a 'reformer'. That is, I am content to live my life outside the organization, while respecting those who remain within it.
I personally believe that Jehovah will individually judge us on our faith in Jesus. Our lives should demonstrate that faith. I do not believe that individual Jehovah's Witnesses are doomed anymore than I believe that sincere Christians in other situations are doomed. I prefer to leave such judgment in Jehovah's hands.
