Actually, the account about Noah is the most
instructive of all. There it clearly states
that blood is just a metaphor for life :
"with blood, that is its soul, you must not
eat".
This is a progressive revelation like the sabbath.
Breaking the sabbath could at times be a very
serious matter but basically, it was put there
to force slave-driving Israelites to give everyone
a day off, to be humane.
Likewise, think of how dumb it is to blindly hold
to the "blood issue" fanatically. It was put there
to guide the Israelites as a first step towards
VIEWING ALL LIFE AS SACRED.
The alternative is to view a sticky red fluid as
more important than anything , even being alive!
