Labeling a pile of words an apology does not make it so.

When Greg gives evidence of being sincere, he'll be taken seriously. Until then it's self-serving damage control. Surely a mature man like you can see this.

It is your prerogative to take Greg’s words however you so desire. Your views should be respected as your views. I will point out, though, that you labeling his actions here as less than sincere does not make it so. It just makes it your opinion.

What you are attempting here is to read Greg’s motives. You have tried the same with me on past occasions and were wrong. You have even called me dishonest when I know I was/am not dishonest! I know that because better than you I know my own motivations. Whether you agree with them is beside the point. The problem is that on occasion each of us has made that same mistake of trying to absolutely read motivations, and more so than most want to admit. In that case we should accept individuality in regards to apologies and move on. Doing otherwise interferes with more important issues and circumstances.

As for Greg, he said, “I apologize to everyone on the board. I made a terrible mistake in trying to fool people about my identity, and continue posting as someone else. I have elsewhere tried to explain the reasons for my actions, and I will say no more about them, except as called for below. Circumstances adversely impacted and distorted my better judgment, and I clearly chose the wrong way to handle the situation. Again, I am sorry.” Besides that he also admitted that the contents nor the tone of TravisJ45-I were as they should’ve been.

I don’t know how clear you want it, but those words are dead on clear. If you don’t like the drapery around it then that is your choice. But make no mistake about it, it is no more than that, your choice. I stand behind what I have already said about this affair, from the beginning up to now. And, I think, my objectivity has been made pretty clear. My expressed views have not reflected naïveness or blindness. For me this matter of character is over. You can now take aim at my acceptance of Greg’s apology if you like. If you take that position (as did one of your groupies) then some true colors will be displayed.
