We have found ourselves, at this point in time, engaged in a war. There are no guns, clubs or spears involved in the fray, only words. These words are missles sent against opponents to convey messages or information . Can this type of weapon injure and destroy? Yes, in many cases "the pen is mightier than the sword." But as is the case with war, there are battles to be fought and with the battles there are always casualties.
The WTS in its battle for the hearts and minds of its followers has caused many injuries, even at times creating situations where people have had to literally chose between life and death. Has the WTS expressed sorrow for those lost, abandoned or bruised? No. To them losses come with the territory and those left behind are labeled dogs or sows. Their philosophy has been that if an individual can't keep up then you are a liability to the just cause of winning this spiritual war.
At times apostates of the WTS have been critisized by their opponents, ie JWs, for inflicting wounds, causing casualties and destroying people's faith in the WTS. But to those who complain about this turn of events, remind yourselves of who it was that started this conflict. Who is it that seeks to destroy (with God's help) all other religions, 6 billion people and, yes, a small group guerrillas known as apostates? We know that instigator to be the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.
Jesus said, "I have come to bring a sword." Such has been the case. For many years this sword appeared to be in the hands of the WTS with its opposers gaining little or no ground. But the little bands of warriors that fought lonely battles through the the years have now been joined by an ever increasing number of individuals who have come to see the errors and dangers of the Society. They, too, have become an army, and they are an army as dedicated to winning this theocratic war as the WTS ever was. It appears that the tide is turning and while I, for one, have no personal animosity for the likes of Greg Stafford, neither do I mourn his fall from grace. There will be many more like Mr. Stafford before the war has ended. Would that it could be another way, but the WTS envisions itself as an heroic survivor of "The Great Day of Jehovah," and there is little else that can be done but to continue to assult the tower with battering rams of truth and reality.
To those who feel the sting of these sharp and painful arrows of righteous warfare I can only say: Had you been kinder, more just, more forgiving and most of all more interested in seeking out the truth, you would not now find yourself in the uncomfortable position of being put on the defensive and being held under siege by the very ones you sought to destroy.
