Do you regard H2O as a valuable forum? If so, how do you support H2O? There are several ways, including the following:
Lurking
Participating
Moderating
Financial contributions
Lurkers offer some support just by logging on to this site. Each login ups our web-counter. In addition to that, lurkers tend to share observations about this site. Whether those observations are negative or positive, they are still advertisement. We all know that if someone says, “The paint is wet”, that privately many people will touch the paint, given the chance.
Participants support this site by providing commentary for a wide range of visitors. Visitors are encouraged to think and/or respond to what they read at this site.
Moderators support H2O by helping to keep it focused on matters related to or of interest to Jehovah’s Witnesses or those interested in Jehovah’s Witnesses as outlined in its Forum Participation Policy.
Financial contributors assist by helping with the basic need of “paying the light bill.”
Loss of any one of the above would eventually close H2O, each is essential. So far H2O has been blessed by remaining a vibrant forum for Jehovah’s Witnesses and those interested in Jehovah’s Witnesses, H2O has enjoyed support.
Everyone reading this is already supporting this site as a lurker. Many readers are participants. Those who are right now just lurking, we encourage that you go the next step and participate. We want to hear your experiences, observations, convictions, etc (within H2O’s participation policy). Those who are participants, I encourage that you consider volunteering as moderators. Don’t assume you will be denied. If you want to be a moderator send me an email of request with your own explanation of why you want to serve in that capacity. Here are questions you should answer if you so volunteer:
Are you one of Jehovah’s Witnesses? If not, what is your experience with Jehovah’s Witnesses? (Within 200 words)
Are you familiar with the Bible? If so, describe the extent of that familiarity. (Within 200 words)
What is your view of the Bible? (Inspired / Moral guide / Historical value / Meaningless for modern humankind) (Within 200 words)
What are your interests regarding Jehovah’s Witnesses? (Within 200 words)
What are your reasons for volunteering as an H2O moderator?
What good does H2O serve? (Within 200 words)
If accepted, do you promise to moderate based upon H2O’s Forum Participation Policy regardless of personal feelings otherwise? Do you promise to apply that policy equally toward each post read by you as an H2O moderator?
You should know in advance that H2O is not about promoting atheism. H2O’s benefactors believe in and have faith in God, our Creator, and want to encourage thinking positively about Him. However, we believe that that faith is useless unless it can withstand tests. To that end we desire to steer this board toward thinking positively about belief in God while simultaneously allowing board participants to respectfully debate with those who might not believe in God.
At this time I wish to express my appreciation to all those volunteers who serve as moderators, you are doing a fine job. Likewise, I wish to thank H2O contributors (financial and participatory), without you the H2O environment would not exist. It takes all of us.
In the interest of keeping H2O vibrant going into the new millenium we are looking for more moderators. So, I encourage that all seriously consider this and contact me either directly as forumdirector1@hotmail.com or else through H2O’s message gateway.
