It is possible that I have lied in the past:)
I do find it pathetic that one engages in an intellectual discussion and relies on lies in his discussion. What is the point? I would think you join in discussions to share the knowledge you have, or to express your opinion. If one need to lie, then he is only concerned with how he looks, not actually gaining or sharing knowledge.
Yes, it is pathetic when grown men, who claim to be "in the truth" have to lie to sound intelligent. In practicus' case he had to lie about his source because he knew it wouldn't be taken seriously.
I do not routinely lie when I'm involving myself in a group discussion. I probably have lied in the past although, to be honest with you, I can't recall anything recently. When I was younger and lied and I got caught, it was far too embarrassing and I learned a valuable lesson. Honesty is the best policy. Sounds lame? If it is something that is none of your business, or I just would prefer not to discuss it, I will tell you that.
OH wait....I did lie when I signed up for my new email address...."catholicvirgin":) Of course that was more tongue in cheek that a lie, huh? I believe there is a technical term for exagerations of that nature.....hyperbole?
