It may not be good from a certain point of view, but that's not my problem. It's like a 17th-century religious person complaining that Galileo's observation of the fact that the earth is not the center of the universe leaves him spiritually bankrupt and void of any hope, and damages his faith. If simple facts can so badly mess up a person's spirituality, then it seems obvious that it was worthless except perhaps as a spiritual pacifier.
