MY 2 CENTS:Is this new light or is it just that the leaders who approve what is written in the org,s publications didn't do their job right?
I can only deduct that they are not such a faithful slave. In other words: they are just not the ones Jesus talked about.

MY 2 CENTS:
What does did mean: 'not-too-distant future'?
In the above sentence they mention the word 'time'.
Can't we just say that could mean the same thing?
What happened to the 1875.....1975 dates?
What happened to all the so-called prophets: Russell... and all the others?
However, they do not speculate on the significance of the year 2000. There is no evidence whatsoever that either the year 2000, the year 2001, or any other date set by humans has anything to do with God's timetable.
MY 2 CENTS:
JW's never do things that the rest of the world do (good or bad) as they do not want to be associated with it.
They rather set their own things (good or bad)
Let's pray for their dead prophet, who cannot be with Jesus ruling the earth as they were unfaithful until their death.
Isaiah 56:

WTBTS has not participated to wars or officially mixed in politics (Germany??) BUT, BUT has done more damages in its small kingdom, by killing people (blood, unjustified rules in certain countries).
What they have achived is enforcing Es. 55:8-9
