I pretty much agree with what you're saying. I would like to add a plea for sanity.
Greg John has admitted he made a mistake with the Travis Vortauk posts. [For what it's worth, I don't think 'Greg' would stand behind the accusations made by 'Travis' - perhaps he can confirm this.]
The Schroeder issue does not look likely to be resolved publicly - neither should it. Of course, related accusations have been made in both directions over it, so there is an aspect of 'public interest'. [I admit to being curious as to whether Greg will answer Alan's pointed questions below, but I don't demand it.] In the final analysis, though, I don't think Greg really wants Alan to betray his sources, and I don't think Alan is really asking us to believe that "Greg is friends with Schroeder because I have two reliable sources who say he is." Most here will give that claim a weighting dependent on Alan's reliability in the past. I think that deep down, both Alan and Greg are aware of all this, as are others who are perhaps making more of the situation than necessary.
As I said to Cyg a little earlier, it's late, so if I've said anything incredibly naive above, or missed a fundamental-topic-that-absolutely-must-be-resolved-or-else-X-is-a-liar/hypocrite/sham/fraud/etc, then forgive me. Believe me, I'm not trivialising what's been going on, it's just that I'd like to see the time and effort that's gone into attacking Alan and Greg (including attacks by each other) over the last few days focussed on what was turning into a very interesting debate.
