A beautiful post and one that describes my feelings to a T. I felt so free after leaving, though I still considered the society to be sincere, and closer to right than any other religion. I didn't leave under any moral cloud, was never da'd or df'd until recently and that by my daughter, not the Society. I was happy and had nothing to do with the organization, though I tried not to do anything that would cost me my relatives in the witnesses. Until I found out the facts about the cult that had confused my family and myself and still holds them in thrall.
Now, I am angry and bitter with them as they did so many dirty things while proclaiming their cleanliness. In my personal life it would have been far easier to let it lay, but knowing how my loved ones are being decieved and used, I couldn't. No, there is no "ulterior motive." I came in because I thought it was the Truth, I left because I couldn't teach what I thought was untrue, I am angry now as I know they were everything they claimed the churches to be. My desire is to expose the leaders and show the "sheep" they are being led by "serpents." Sheep are such trusting creatures, wool in their eyes and all that. Not being meat eaters they assume until their slaughter that the world is as vegetarian as they are. I would like to point out the meat cleavers in the shepherd's pockets.
