I'm not going to take the time to present a drawn out essay on why the position of the WTS on blood is wrong. It's been done many times by minds far finer than mine.
But I will point out this to you:
The WTS has many times pointed out that blood is the "symbol" of life.
People who donate blood are not killed first to get the blood.
The penalty in ancient Israel for eating blood amounted to about the same punishment as having to pay a simple traffic ticket today, perhaps less.
Since when is any "symbol," including the one for life more important than the life it represents?
Would God really will that tens of thousands of people, including infants and children die because the symbol of life was to be viewed as more important than their very own life?
