It's not so much what I believe as it is what I've seen and experienced. I've watched it happen time and again.

This is true. Of course, there's nothing wrong with discussing things, or even with defending our beliefs. Jesus himself did this. I am specifically referring to the attitude of some brothers who are all "gung-ho" and stir-up debates that they can't possibly win because they're too immodest to admit that often we have been (and still may be) wrong about certain things. Unfortunately, there are other brothers who don't recognize that they don't have the mental capacity or intelligence to take on certain critics. In neither of these cases am I referring to Greg, who I think has shown himself to be a worthy opponent. However, in Greg's case, I think he made a serious error in judgment with his TravisJ post. The seeming dishonesty of that post, not to mention the egotism and immodesty that it wreaked of, has caused more damage than Greg set out to correct in the first place. As my imperfect brother, I don't harbor any bad feelings toward him, however, as I mentioned, I believe he should quit while he's ahead, because the situation has the potential to get even worse.
