After about two months of mostly lurking here I find myself able to see both sides of most arguments. I don't know if that is a gift or a curse as I often find it hard to make a final decision about things. I, like many of you, have had many doubts about the Society and many of the teachings but I find myself unable to cut ties. From reading many posts it seems that one of the major disagreements has to do with the blood issue. I can understand the argument that it is hypocritical to allow certain components of blood for medical use and not others. However I cannot escape the fact that blood is one of the few specific things mentioned in the bible before the Mosaic Law was written, during the time of adherence to the Law, and then again after the Law was fulfilled. This makes me think that obviously blood is important and must have special significance to God. One could easily conclude that it is even sacred to Jehovah. The fact that He asks back the blood of an animal makes me think that human blood would be even more important. Maybe since He has the ability to see the Big Picture much clearer than we do, allows him to forbid blood to be used for the temporary extention of present life.
Just my sincere and humble opinion,
Noggin, (who welcomes feedback)
