I am a brother in good standing, and I'll be upfront in stating that I support the Watchtower Society and Jehovah's Witnesses in their endeavor to do God's will as we presently understand it. As a group of imperfect and uninspired people, I do not have a problem accepting that we have made many mistakes in the past, and we will continue to make mistakes in the future.
However, I just wanted to comment on the events that have transpired over the past week. What I'm sure started out as a noble cause, that of defending the beliefs of Jehovah's Witnesses, has turned into nothing more than mudslinging match, and as of recent, an attempt to defend yourself as a person, and not the Truth. Furthermore, the responses on both sides are long-winded and overwhelming, and thus, totally ineffective. I can honestly say that I am not impressed with either side's presentation.
This has happended time and time again to brothers who do not follow the Society's council about engaging in public debates, and those of us who continue to disregard it, or reason that we are somehow an exception to rule (myself included), will have to face this type of public defaming.
My recommendation is that you quit while you are ahead, because right now I believe you are doing more damage trying to salvage your reputation and explain a situation that, in the opinion of most people, looks very dubious and suspicious.
