I am very against the blood thing the JW's have. HOwever, I do not believe in forcing medical treatment on anyone of consenting age, adults in other words.
There is a reason for that. My husband had heart surgery, quadruple by-pass. They have a marvelous way of recycling the patient's own blood which helps avoid transfusion and they don't use transfusion nearly as much as they did.
But the patient can still lose a lot of blood.
Anyway, he didn't even need blood during the surgery or afterwards. He lost so much that his skin took on a waxy appearance, which scared me. But they never once suggested he'd be better off with a blood transfusion.
Then several days later he was recovering fine and ready to be released from the hospital. At that point the doctors started insisting on a blood transfusion!
We asked if he was losing blood. Welll, noooo.
We asked if he was not building his own blood supply well enough. He was doing FINE. They told us that themselves.
They wanted to give him a transfusion because it would build his blood supply faster was all. They did not have one good argument for a transfusion.
We felt it was too big a medical risk (not a spiritual one at all.) We turned it down.
But one doctor got downright nasty with us. But he didn't have a good reason at all. His "reasoning" that we should have a transfusion was that aids was such a small risk now, you'd be more likely to get hepitis C from the transfusion. LOL He had NO good, sound reason that my husband should have a transfusion at that point.
We went home, and my husband recovered beautifully and remarkably fast. There was no reason for him to risk taking blood. If he'd been going to die without one, we would have of course.
But doctors, armed with a law that could force patients to take blood, could have possibly found a loop hole to force blood on my husband, even though he wasn't dying.
No, I'm opposed to a person's free will being taken from them, even by the medical community. Those people are adults and if they want to risk death and leave their children, then so be it. They will suffer the consequences.
yes, I know it is a result of mind control. But no one should be forced.
