I agree that it does seem unlikely that GS will apologise over this, which is a shame, because I'm sure most reasonable and fair-minded people on this board would have been understanding and indulgent.
Greg should be valued; he is at least TRYING to defend his faith, unlike most hit-and-run "you're all APOSTATES!" type of JW-posters. Greg might've figured that he needed some other voice to stand up for him - God knows he is vastly out-numbered on this forum and needs all the help he can get.
Well, it all went wrong for him, but if he'd just been humble enough to come clean about it, I genuinely think he'd have met with an overwhelmingly understanding/positive response to his indescretion.
As it is he has met the whole situation head-on with an absolute Niagara of self-justifying verbosity which just turns people off even more.
Greg should learn that Less is More.
His posts sound rather like that story of the schoolboy suspected of stealing another boys chocolate bar who declares that
1) nothing was actually stolen
2) and anyway, it wasn't him who stole it
3) besides, the boy said he could have it.
