I think you're right!

Did you know that the dynamic equation describing the flight of a rocket contains a zero at the origin, which results in an inherent instability that causes an unguided rocket to usually heel over and crash? Until early rocket designers understood this and modified their fed back steering systems accordingly, they had many crashes that they couldn't explain.
