The posts were in a hidden "vault" created by developers (brothers) who retrofitted all sorts of security measures into this site. Very recently I became aware of this, but didn't offer to restore them figuring that I should let them die.
Tonight a rebuild script detected number sequence gaps in the posts (as they are numbered consecutively like bank cheques), and its design (of a few years ago) was such, that it concluded that a rogue process deleted the posts. (Otherwise a record that the moderator tools leave that a post is officially "deleted" would have let it know that the deletion was "legit.") It proceeded to restore those posts, and place them exactly as they existed prior to their deletion.
Therefore, they would have reappeared anyways. Your asking for their restoral simply answers my quandry as to whether you would have wanted them deleted. The posts also no longer violate the FPP because there is no deception (as you have freely stated you posted them, and even asked to have them reposted when they were taken down). Therefore the brother who deleted them has no more claim that the name Travis in any manner causes the deception or confusion that would beguile the weak minded. I trust therefore that the brother will not remove this post, and learn from this episode that the moderator tools must be used to make the deletion permanent (because otherwise the posts will resurface from that ominous hidden "vault" ... dramatic music ... fade to black). ;-)
I appreciate your very detailed explanation, Greg, and the effort it must have taken. You've shown integrity in your willingness to come back and fully explain yourself even though you didn't have to, and I admire and respect that!
