Alan: I find your remarks very thoughtful, honest, and insightful. While I share some of your sentiments, I remain a Christian.

I admit that my faith, while based on some factual evidence, is largely built on hope, and what I have interpreted as God working in my life.

Your honesty is refreshing, because you leave open the possibility that God exist and that he may be working with humanity as revealed in the Bible.

I admit I am troubled at times as to why God allows so much religious confusion in the very world in which he sent His greatest witness to save, Jesus Christ.

Jesus once told Thomas, shortly before he ascended back to heaven, that those who believe, but have not seen (experienced physical proof) are to be blessed.

It appeares that the Christian faith requires we take one step beyond the world of positive physical evidence, and accept some matters in hope.

While I remain a Christian, I no longer subscribe to any religious organization. I believe that Christ is to be found in personal experience, and not through the systematic contrivances of men.

Thank you again for your posting. I welcome any questions or comments from you on what I have said.

Simply Amazing
