Come on, Adam! I already told you that my comments and Gedanken's (with which J.H.'s agree) are consistent and that I agreed with Gedanken.
To state it clearly: Greg screwed up under the stress of the moment, but I agree with Gedanken that there is little excuse for it, especially now that he has made no apology after more than two days have gone by. In other words, I agree that Greg made his foolish post in order to conceal his identity, but I consider it extremely foolish to have boasted so magnificently about himself.
To prove that this is what I said, note first what you told me:

I agreed with that, but qualified it:

Had he been thinking clearly, he would have seen that a simple "I agree with Greg and disagree with AF, and will state my reasons in subsequent posts" would have been sufficient. That would have been appropriate even when he messed up on hiding his identity.As for the stress, I suspect you're still a JW, so you have no idea how shocking it is when Mommie takes off the velvet glove and bashes you upside the head. People have been known to do far worse than merely embarrass themselves by exposing their arrogance for the world to laugh at.

Are you entirely braindead? As far as I'm aware, Greg made one and only one post under the name "TravisJ45". If you're aware of another, be sure to point to it. That single post is the one I saved, along with his other two top level posts. Do keep in mind that Greg did explain the reason for his first post in his next post after the TravisJ45 post, entitled "The Decision - Greg Stafford [GregStafford] 08:16:29 11/03/99", but note that this was under his real name. But you already know that because you've quoted what he said there a number of times:

I should point out a couple of facts: during the day my access to H2O is quite spotty and can vary from hardly any to a lot, depending on the needs of my job. The day that Greg self-destructed, it so happened that I was able to access H2O at just the right time to read all the posts in the order in which they were posted, realize what Greg had done, and go back and save the top level posts. I rarely save any posts except my own and those I reply to until I get home and can save them on my home computer. I saved Greg's posts under these names:
Stafford_trips.html
Stafford_falls.html
Stafford_dies.html
That's all I saved on my work computer except for my own posts during the day. It was only by the luck of the draw that I managed to save them from our rogue administrator's depredations.
