Your letter certainly seems sincere and heartfelt. Having an aversion to "a lie" is a virtue and cannot be argued with -- from a biblical OR secular standpoint. Most honest people (JWs or not) would never accept a lie -- for whatever the reason. So the alleged suggestion by the "elder" is not ok -- (the individual can hardly represent the whole) -- and certainly does NOT reflect upon Jehovah (Titus 1:2).
My dispute with your version of what the WT represents and teaches, is with your opinion. It calls into question the motives of people who represent the WT organization. Most of JWs believe that the motive of the "society" of brothers and sisters making up the WT and Jehovah's people is rooted in love.
Feeling and believing as you do -- it takes courage to take the stand you have, with its consequences. As a grandparent, the sacrifice must be extraordinary.
Prayers are with you, as this certainly is a difficult time for you.
