Hi mntzion,

I totally understand your position. All I can say is that I have accepted what the Bible says to be true. That's my judgment call based upon my own personal experience and research.

According to the Bible it had never rained and everything was watered from underground springs. So everybody knows about underground springs and how they can create streams, etc. So excuuuse me, but scientifically, you don't need rain or snow for a river, you just need water and that can come from underground.

So do you see what I'm saying? You made an assumption, dismissed the Bible as being "un-scientific" without checking the Bible itself or having enough understanding or imagination to realize you don't need rain or snow to create rivers.

Genesis 2:10 says "There was a river issuing out of Eden to water the garden..."

So obviously not coming from a moutain but from underground.

But here an interesting detail about the vegetation: Genesis 2:5 says: "Now there wsa as yet no bush of the field found in the earth and no vegetation of the field was as yet sprouting, because Jehovah God had not made it rain upon the earth and there was no man to cultivate the ground. But a mist would go up from the earth and it watered the entire surface of the ground."

Now that's interesting.

Anyway, I don't have scientific "proof" that that was the antedeluvial situation, not that I would expect there could be any other than we do know there are underground springs of water. So I have faith that it's true. On the other hand, there is no scientific proof that this was not the case. So I usually don't concern myself with speculations of science when it contradicts the Scriptures.

On the other hand, the Bible does provide us with enough practical information for us to understand things. The Global flood is just one case. The Bible describes separating the waters below from the waters above and now we know it was frozen into ice and it must have encircled the earth and thus there was a hot-house effect, light could come through, and when the Flood came that's where all the water came from.

So while we're wondering the dynamics of the canopty, etc. which was remarkable or even miraculous, our questions are answered as to where all the water came from to completely flood the earth. So to me, that is kind of scientific.

And we're used to rain and so we might have wondered how things got watered and now we know. God invented the first sprinkler system. That works. So you see, its amazing and miraculous, yet not so miraculous at the same time. God works within the natural laws he created to do most things. So to me, the Bible is very scientific.

But no matter what, even the Bible says one must have "faith" to go along with the Christian program. So everything is not going to be shown to you or understood no matter what. I think that is what those who believe so much in science want. They want the proof positive there is a God and they want it to show up experimentally so they can confirm it again and again as "fact." But it just doesn't work that way.

So ultimately I don't apologize for my faith, nor do I condemn others for their doubts. But my faith is very strong and so far, I've found the Bible to be an amazing book of truth, accurate history, and amazing prophecy.

Imagine prophesying the HOLOCAUST 2500 years in advance! Imagine predicting there would be one absolute great superpower in our day? It's all in the Bible and it is all happening just as the Bible says.

Cheers,
Bibleman
