Thanks for calling my attention to your response. It's amazing how quickly things disappear over the horizon on H20.
I also entertain possibilities that JW's have some designed purpose. It is important to separate JW's as "good" people from the Watchtower Organization which appears to have gotten lost.
There are a few prophecies in the Bible, primarily Daniel, Revelation, & Signs of the Christs Return, that keep me interested. My understanding of these prophecies is quite a bit different from the Watchtower interpretations. However, there is one feature of these prophecies that can't be left out and that's the identity of a people referred to as "the holy ones" and sometimes as the "chosen ones". If these prophecies are to be fullfilled they must be fullfilled in connection with some identifiable group. Is that group JW's? Possibly. I am inclined to believe that "the holy ones" remain to be identified as the end-time prophecies take shape.
Daniel 11:32 speaks about "a people who are knowing their God". Among these people there will be "those having insight" who will impart understanding to the many. (Dan 11:33)
Also something peculiar happens as the end draws close. Dan 12:3 says "And the ones having insight will shine like the brightness of the expanse, and those who are bringing the many to righteousness like the stars."
The insight referred to here has specific reference to understanding Daniel. Daniel is told that "the words are made secret until the time of the end" and that "the ones having insight WILL understand"
The fullfillment of Daniels words is climaxed by the "dashing of the power of the holy people to pieces".
I would never lay claim to being one of those having insight. In fact I remain a skeptic about the existence of God and am awaiting miraculous evidence before I will be convinced. However, I believe the particular way I see the prophecies in Daniel & Revelation are a lot more coherent than what I've read in the Watchtower.
