The Gnostics believed and taught that for spirituality to have true meaning to the individual one must have personal experience with it. I think, in this, that the Gnostics are to be admired. Paul, however, condemned them largely because he couldn't control them. But as you remember, Paul had a personal experience OUTSIDE the newly founded christian religion. Until your daughter starts sacrificing chickens in the moonlight while nude and sreaming "Beaver of the hillside" I don't suspect that you have a whole lot to worry about.
