Sunny, that was a magnificant letter. Well done. I know that it took incredible amounts of prayer, thought, meditation and above all courage, to put it down on paper that way. We all feel for your losses that will invariably ensue from this letter...but those losses are not of or from God. We are all praying fervently for changes to be made in the Society so that we can have our dear lost loved ones back soon. They MUST wake up and see how far they have gone from the love of God that they so heartily purport is theirs and theirs alone! My mother in law just wrote a similar letter, tho not to the elders directly, to her two adult JW children, and was immediately discarded by her son and told never to contact him again. I was astounded at the coldheartedness there...the self righteousness shown, and the incredible pain and hurt she will endure, just for finally standing up for her integrity before God as you just did. Its a no win situation...no matter what you do you lose something, either yourself and your love for God and your hate for hypocrisy by staying...or your family and all who are dear to you by leaving. The Society wields the weapon of shunning like a marksman with a gun squarely against the temples of their followers. Im sure God will take care of things in His due time...but I miss my family NOW...and I mourn for them as if they have died. I know they dont mourn for me. The JW mentality dictates that those of us who dare leave MUST suffer...and at THEIR hands, not Gods.
It has to stop...it HAS to. :(
