Want a dare?
You think Darius ruled for 36 years.
Well it so happens he started Persepolis with his son, Xerxes, in his 4th year and guess what? He couldn't finish the "city".
Guess what else, it is only elevent buildings and he finished his own palace before he died.
Guess what else, the city only took five years to build. The main work was completed in the 7th year of Artaxerxes.
So what's the dare?
I dare you to ask an archaeologist why it took over 50 years (as they claim) to build a city that was begun in the 4th year of Darius, a city which should have only taken five years to build?
Persepolis is one thing they couldn't bury. The architecture. Oh yes, they changed building inscriptions and tried to chisel off the faces of Xerxes and Artaxerxes so you couldn't tell they were the same king, but the architecture itself proves the city was completed in just five years.
After Darius started the city in his four year, he died before it was completed and it had to be finished by Xerxes. But it was begun with the two kings as co-rulers, therefore Xerxes appears with his father in some parts of the city. But after his father died, he showed himself alone. Only, per Persian custom he changed his name from Xerxes to Artaxerxes! Lots of people didn't know that, especially in Greece so they took advantage after Xerxes lost at Salamis and began to call him Artaxerxes the son of Xerxes. To try and harmonize the ages, the Persians began to add more history to the Persian Period, eventually adding up to 82 years before the adjustments were completed. But the architecture of Persepolis gives the truth away.
So go ahead, I dare you. Tell an archaeologist that some crazy person said Persepolis was only built in five years. No matter what, there is no way that 11 buildings that could have been finished in a couple of years were still in the progress of building over a 50-year period as is claimed. That is, when they add 30 years to Darius' rule and another 21 years for a separate rule for Xerxes. That's 50 extra years. Artaxerxes finished the city in his 7th year. So what just took 5-6 years they are claiming took 57 years.
Easy to check out. If I'm wrong that should be proven. Go ahead, try to prove me wrong.
You can't! There are only 11 buildings, some of which were actually finished and some only started during the reign of Darius I.
The Bible says Darius I only ruled for six years. Persepolis was left unfinished by him, proving his reign was cut short shortly after he began to build the city whith is son and co-ruler, Xerxes.
He began to build Persepolis in his 4th year.
