"Jehovah" by J.F. Rutherford (1934)
Page 14;
"In answer to the question as to what would be the proof of his coming and his kingdom Jesus stated that the world war would mark the beginning of his operations concerning the world."

The date for that used to be 1874.
This is some 'flashing light' for the notion was that 1914 was to be the 'end' of Jesus' operations according to the previous president of the WTS. That's why they were waiting up on the roof of Brooklyn Bethel in white robes during October.
He goes on to say;

"That world war came in 1914, in fullfillment of the prophecy uttered by Jesus."

"Having been warned, men are at liberty to join whatever organisation they wish.....To take your stand on Jehovah's side you do not need to join any human organisation, but in the privacy of your home devote yourself to God an his kingdom under Christ.
There are on the earth today millions of people of good will who desire to know and to do what is right, and those who follow the instructions given them in the Word of God may be hid in the time of the great tribulation, and be carried through it safely, and then live forever on the earth and never die. Hence it can be said, 'Millions now living will never die".-John 8:51.
(Here it is.)
NIV John 8:51-59
51. I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death."
52. At this the Jews exclaimed, "Now we know that you are demon-possessed! Abraham died and so did the prophets, yet you say that if anyone keeps your word, he will never taste death.
53. Are you greater than our father Abraham? He died, and so did the prophets. Who do you think you are?"
54. Jesus replied, "If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me.
55. Though you do not know him, I know him. If I said I did not, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and keep his word.
56. Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad."
57. "You are not yet fifty years old," the Jews said to him, "and you have seen Abraham!"
58. "I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!"
59. At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.

Da Judge uses this cheap, carnival huckster embellishment to gloss over one of the most important stastements in the Bible.
But he is not done with thought yet, he continues;

"Human perfection and eternal life on earth will be given to obedient ones."

And therin lies the 'rub'. Obedience, something that the loyal JW is usually very good at. More commentary later. I have lots of old books by Farkel's favorite author.
If AF reads this: I have "Comfort for the People", a booklet from this time period and I plan to go 'up country' sometime soon to look for more old WTS stuff.

WW, who has hand-written margin notes from his great grandfather which say '606 b.c.e. plus 2520 years = 1914', does everyone realize the significance of this realization?
