I don't know enough details about your personal situation. I have known of some people who seem to "attract" spirits for some reason. I don't know why.
But there seems to be a consistent pattern of "curiosity" into borderline spiritualistic things, like astrology or things like that.
As far as your being aware of these things since an early age, it could be they were focussed on something in the home. Sometimes other relatives who are into spiritism to some degree provide a millieu for spirits. Sometimes it is random I suppose. Or maybe it might be associated with a certain house, etc. I don't know enough details of your situation to point out anything. But that's usually the case.
As far as "dabbling" I meant that as a reference to your curiosity into "wiccan".
